ChristianaCare's Medical Group is looking to hire a Medical Assistant to support our School Based Health Program.
The Medical Assistant will be responsible for assisting clinicians in the examination and treatment of patients and will deliver quality patient care for our students within the DE school district.
The Medical Assistant will collaborate with an inter-disciplinary team of Behavioral Health Therapists, Registered Dieticians, Nurse Practitioners, Administrative Assistants, Office Assistants as well as Operational leaders.
Work Schedule:
Primary Responsibilities:
Provides the clinical care necessary within the department, including routine, special needs and emergency.
Maintains appropriate student health records and documents services rendered.
Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care for the physical, psychological, social, educational, and safety needs of the patients served regardless of age
Complies with HIPAA regulations while accessing patient information
Verifies necessary student/patient forms for provisions of School Based Health Center services.
Prepares patients for clinical visits by opening encounters and recording patient vitals.
Performs point of care testing, vaccinations, medication administration as per practice needs.
Assist clinician with examinations/procedures; chaperoning as needed.

Qualifications:
High School Graduate or Equivalent
A graduate of a recognized Medical Assistant Program or
Hold current Medical Assistant Certification by a national organization accredited by the National Commission for Certifying Agencies (NCCA) or the American National Standards Institute (ANSI)
2 years' experience as a Medical Assistant, is preferred
